Questions, answers

What is community acupuncture?

Community acupuncture is a model of care designed to make treatment more accessible and affordable. Instead of a private room, you will receive treatment in a quiet, shared space alongside other patients.

This collective environment is peaceful, supportive, and allows us to offer our services at a more accessible rate.

How much does the treatment cost?

Our community acupuncture sessions are free to attend, as we believe high-quality care should be available to everyone regardless of financial barriers. If you are in a position to support our efforts, we gratefully accept donations made to TSOMN.

What time should I arrive for my session?

To maintain a peaceful, uninterrupted environment for our patients, we offer three staggered arrival time slots: 5:00 PM, 5:30 PM, or 6:00 PM. Please indicate your preferred arrival time when you complete the registration form. We ask that you arrive as close to your selected time as possible so our staff can check you in without disrupting the treatments already in progress.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your lower arms and legs (below the elbows and knees). Since the treatments occur in a shared room, please be mindful of this when choosing your attire.

What can I expect during my visit?

Upon arrival, you will settle into a comfortable treatment table. After a brief check-in to discuss your health goals, we will place the acupuncture needles. You will then be invited to rest for the duration of the session—typically 30 to 45—before we return to remove the needles.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Please arrive having eaten a light snack or meal. To help us focus entirely on your care during the session, please ensure all intake paperwork is completed and submitted at least two business days prior to your appointment. This allows our staff to review your information and finalize your registration before you arrive.

Is my privacy protected?

While the acupuncture needles are placed in a shared room, your health information remains strictly confidential. We maintain privacy during any necessary intake discussions, and your medical records are kept secure and separate from the treatment area.

Can I bring a friend or family member?

Yes! Community acupuncture is a wonderful way to experience wellness together. Please make sure that each person attending has their own registration form submitted ahead of time so we can accommodate everyone properly.
